Biochemical Treatment of Joints | 4 Cell Salts for Joint Pain

The twelve tissue salts play essential role in the cure of inflammation. That is because each of them is present in the living cells in exact requisite amount of molecules.

The deficiency of some tissue salts in cells causes a disturbance in the molecular motion of the respective salts in the tissues of the body. This disturbance constitutes a disease on the physical level.

Though it is impossible to cure a person by treating only his physical body, still the mineral balance in living cells should be reinstated and kept that way. Therefore, while the homeopathic remedy chosen in potency above 30 C acts on the three levels – body, mind and spirit,  Schuessler salts help the therapist to quickly remove the mineral disturbance in the affected tissues by adding the respective amount of mineral ingredients in the exact natural decimal dilution; and thus an adequate cure is achieved.

This rule is valid for all types of tissues affected by acute or chronic inflammation, including the tissues of muscles, tendons, cartilages, joints and bones.

Therefore tissue salts are important remedies in treatment of the disorders related to above mentioned tissues of the muscular-skeleton apparatus; disorders like acute or chronic arthritis, tendonitis, bursitis, gout, mechanical injuries, bruises, trauma, fracture, contusions, lacerations, etc.

Particularly in the homeopathic treatment of joint disorder, where pain is considerable and tormenting, the biochemical tissue remedies are of the utmost importance.

Ferrum phosphoricum | First Stage of Inflammation

Ferrum phosphoricum is applicable in the initial phase of all types of inflammation with sub febrile fever. It is an excellent remedy for treatment of children.

It is a remedy for first aid in bruises, trauma, contusions, and the pursuing pain which grow worse by motion and better from cool applications on the affected limb.

At the commencement of the inflammation Ferr-phos should be given in repeated doses when there are febrile symptoms present. In acute traumatic cases the remedy may be repeated at every 15 minutes.

The joints are painful on moving; motion sets up and increases the pain.

External application of Ferr-phos

Immediately after overuse or a trauma of the limbs or joints, while in the phase of sharp intolerable pains, following measures might be taken:

Prepare a dilution from 15 pastilles Ferr-phos D12 in a glass half full with pure water. Apply clean lint on the painful joint and moisten it with the dilution regularly. It is also possible to immerse the affected area (fingers for instance) directly into the dilution.

After the pain is diminished, prepare paste from Ferr-phos D12 diluted in smaller quantity of water, then apply it on the painful spot. Keep it as long as it is damp, and then prepare a new one. Continue to change compresses until pain and inflammation subside.

Kalium chloratum (muriaticum)

In the consecutive stage of the inflammation, where ligaments and serous membranes are affected, comes the use of Kalium chloratum. It is therefore important remedy in treatment of bursitis, tendonitis and acute arthritis.

Clear indication for the need of Kalium chloratum is the white coating of the tongue.

In acute arthritis accompanied by swelling of the affected joint, or when the tongue is coated white, Kalium chloratum is clearly indicated. It is useful especially after Ferrum phosphoricum.

Kali-chloratum also covers the modality ‘movement aggravates the pains’. It may therefore be alternated with Ferr-phos if pains are sharp and ameliorate by cool applications.

Kalium sulphuricum

Chronic states make absolutely necessary the acceptance of Kalium sulphuricum. That is because after the first two stages of inflammation the organism had not succeeded to eliminate the toxic substances.

In the third stage of a disease there is accumulation of toxic substances into the cells. Kalium sulphuricum helps the process of elimination, together with Kalium chloratum.

Kali-sulph is indicated in rheumatic arthritis where the pains shift from one joint to another. Shifting and wandering rheumatic pains in the joints are sure symptom of Kali-sulph.

The pains are periodical, shifting from one place to another. They grow worse in the evening, by heat, in warm room; and much better in a cool place.

Natrium chloratum (muriaticum)

Natrium muriaticum is the salt which maintains the balance of fluids in the living cells. A was mentioned in another article, the ligaments, cartilages and tendons are bradytrophic tissues. The cells in bradytrophis tissues keet the water within more difficult than the cells in tissues which are fed by the blood circulation.

The result is swelling of tissues in the affected joints and spontaneous ruptures of the tendons and the ligaments because of dryness.

Nat-mur is indicated for cracking of joints, chronic arthritis, bursitis, gout and sore pain in the hamstrings. In the acute stage of gout it should be alternated with Ferr-phos.

This remedy is highly effective for hot painful swellings of the knees.
